subspace Magazine: What led you to a career in professional domination?
Lexi Sindel: My first exposure to fetish made a big impact. I remember learning the definition of a “dominatrix” (getting dressed up and beating men) when I was an early teenager and telling my mother, “That’s what I want to be when I get older.” I think my Christian mother may have smacked me for that statement.
The aesthetics of fetish have always attracted me, shiny rubber, corsets, extremely high heels, and me. I purchased my first rubber dress and corset when I was 18 and started dabbling on BDSM oriented websites such as ALT.com. I picked up a sub from that website who offered to compensate me for my time with him. I took a real liking to dominating subs, so I explored the industry further.
subspace Magazine: What is a dominatrix to you?
Lexi Sindel: Well, I would describe a “Dominatrix” as a sexually Dominant woman who enjoys training and disciplining her partners to suit her desires.
subspace Magazine: What is your favorite piece of BDSM equipment?
Lexi Sindel: My most prized pieces would have to be my whips, especially my signal and bull whips. Nothing makes me feel more dominant than cracking a long whip. I love a butter soft kangaroo whip. I also couldn’t live without my fetish wardrobe; dress up is one of the best perks of the job!
subspace Magazine: What is your specialty?
Lexi Sindel: There is no one thing that I specialize in, it would be boring to do the same things over again and again. I guess I am best known for creating filthy-dirty scenes. I would go into it more, but… it is a bit much for most people. If you are curious you can look it up.
subspace Magazine: What are your favorite types of activities or scenes?
Lexi Sindel: Any type of kinky debauchery is great. Some of my favorite scenes are corporal sessions using whips, paddles, canes, or over the top humiliation. I love seeing how far someone will let me push them, how far they will go to please me.
subspace Magazine: What has been the strangest session request?
Lexi Sindel: I get asked this question often, but I generally don’t take requests. The scenes I am involved in are playing out what I find erotic or perverse.
subspace Magazine: You have relocated from DC to L.A. Why did you move?
Lexi Sindel: After spending 5 yrs. in DC I decided it was time to move back home. I am originally from LA so all of my family and most of my friend live in California. I really enjoyed my time on the East, but California will always be home to me.
subspace Magazine: What is your new studio like?
Lexi Sindel: My new studio is amazing; I finally got what I have been wishing for. It is a large warehouse with many different theme sets, and dungeon playrooms. I even have a full time slave building any sets or equipment my kinky mind can come up with. It took years to find such a perfect place, my kinky paradise.
subspace Magazine: What web sites do you operate?
Lexi Sindel: My main video site is now www.FemdomEmpire.com. It had it’s official launch in Nov 2011.
subspace Magazine: How involved are you in the film production side of your videos?
Lexi Sindel: Video production is so much fun for me, I put all my effort into the products I put out. I design the sets, choose wardrobe, write the scripts, sometimes edit and upload them myself. When I am not in front of the camera, I am usually behind it. Video production has become a creative outlet for me, it allows me to put both my technical and art background to use. If it has my name on it I want it to be the best I am capable of.
subspace Magazine: How long does it typically take for you to film and edit a video?
Lexi Sindel: A full day of shooting will usually take between 4-8 hrs depending on how many costume changes and set moves. Editing takes a couple hours per scene.
subspace Magazine: What seem to be the top videos people download?
Lexi Sindel: Some of the more popular themes include strap-on play, transformation from male to female fantasies, corporal scenes, and some of the more outrageous theme videos.
subspace Magazine: How did you end up collaborating with Chad Michael Ward?
Lexi Sindel: Chad does amazing work; I have always admired his style. His images are eerie yet remain sexy. He needed a warehouse for a project he was working on, so we exchanged use my location for photos. I think it turned out well for both of us.
subspace Magazine: What are you working on next?
Lexi Sindel: Whew! I have been going non-stop since my move. I am continuing working on my studio and may rent it out to other producers. I am planning on continue growing my website FemdomEmpire. I think I should work on taking a much-needed vacation next.
